Natural Sharpening Stones

These premium natural finishing stones are essential for achieving a flawless, razor-sharp edge on shechita knives. Each stone is meticulously prepared for shechita use—polished to an ultra-fine grit between 10,000 and 20,000, and carefully rounded at the edges to prevent nicks or damage during use.

All three stones are packaged in custom-made protective sheaths for added durability and user comfort. The Black and Green stones also come mounted on non-slip rubber bases for improved durability enhanced stability during use. 

While it is customary for shochtim to purchase both the Green and Black natural stones, each of these finishing stones is fully capable of delivering the superior edge required for proper shechita. Green stones tend to have a higher grit than black and green stones, but all are very closely matched in grit quality.

Natural stones should be worked with a small piece of 1500#-2000# grit wet sandpaper (included with purchase) before each use.
